(Lancaster, PA) F&M Trust was named the #9 Best Place to Work in Pennsylvania large-sized company at the annual Best Places to Work in PA awards ceremony last evening at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, PA.  This is the eighth time in the past nine years that the local bank was named to the list.

The Best Places to Work in PA survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The program is made up of 100 companies split into two groups: medium sized companies (25-250 employees) and large sized companies (more than 250 employees).  The award program, created in 2000, is the first of its kind offered by a state in the country. The program is a public/private partnership of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and the Central Penn Business Journal.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in PA. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation.  The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.  Over 450,000 Pennsylvania employees filled out the survey this year.  This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, including the evaluation of data collected from the participating companies to determine the final rankings.

Last year, the bank was named the #15 Best Place to Work in PA large-sized company.  F&M Trust was first nominated for the Best Places to Work in PA in 2003, finishing 12^th overall in the list of medium sized companies (25-250 employees).  That was followed by overall rankings of 14^th in 2004 and 47^th in 2005 in the medium-sized company group, along with a ranking of 22^nd in 2007, 25^th in 2008, and 11^th in 2009 in the large-sized company category.  For more information on the Best Places to Work in PA program, visit www.bestplacestoworkinpa.com or the Central Penn Business Journal at 717-236-4300.
